About Captain Cory Russell:

Captain Cory Russell is a charter fishing captain in Port Aransas, Texas who has brought countless numbers of guests into the waters in search of their next trophy fish or in hopes of getting a nice big catch. His expertise is of no surprise as he is born and raised in the area and has been fishing these grounds almost his entire life. He got introduced to fishing at a very early stage, he started fishing when he was 3 years old. Coming from a family of fishermen, it wasn’t really hard for him to learn and embrace sport fishing. When he was young, he would look forward and excitedly prepare for fishing and hunting trips with his family. What excites him the most is learning new techniques, trying to hook new species, learning their patterns, and being able to explore new waterbodies as he encounters new learnings and experiences that will strengthen his angling skills. When he is not busy with school, you would normally see him in the waters testing out new baits, casting lines, and maximizing his time trying new tricks and techniques for the first time. Every time he fails, he felt more challenged and it inspired him to think of better ways to proceed and improve.

His goal was to become an expert and to have his own fishing charter company. He worked hard day and night and invested in gear, boats, and just about anything that will make things achievable. With his perseverance, he now owns a Port Aransas charter fishing guide company called Russell & Sons Outdoors which he uses as a tool to help other people to make their own fishing and hunting dreams come true.

Capt. Cory specializes in inshore fishing and flats fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. He can take you to the best fishing spots and chase after Redfish, Trout, Flounder, Largemouth Bass, Mackerels, and many more. You can use live bait or use the topnotch rods, reels, tackle, and other necessary fishing gear provided by the captain.

He wouldn’t mind teaching novices or kids because mentoring is another passion of his. He has anticipated and prepared for this his entire life and he believes that becoming the best not only means joining tournaments and setting records but most importantly being able to successfully pass on that same passion as he has for fishing, to the next generation.
