Trip Pricing and Availabilities:

Top-Rated Shark Fishing Adventure

Picture this: you're standing on deck with a heavy rod in your hands, the bay stretching out around you, when suddenly your drag starts screaming and your rod doubles over. That's exactly what you'll get on this world-class shark fishing trip with Russell & Sons Outdoors. We're talking about battling some of the bay's most powerful predators – from aggressive Blacktips that'll test your skills to massive Bull Sharks that'll make your heart race. This isn't your typical fishing trip where you're hoping for a bite. Out here, we're targeting sharks that fight hard and pull harder. Whether you've been chasing big fish for years or this is your first real taste of serious angling, you're going to walk away with stories that'll last forever.

What to Expect on the Water

When you step aboard with us, you're joining a customer favorite experience that's built around one thing: putting you on fish. We keep our groups small – just 4 anglers max – so everyone gets their shot at the action. No crowded boat, no waiting around while someone else has all the fun. The bay gives us access to some of the best shark fishing you'll find anywhere, and we know exactly where these fish hang out. You'll be fishing from a boat that's rigged specifically for handling big, powerful fish. We're not talking about a leisurely day of casting and hoping. This is active, hands-on fishing where the action can happen fast and when it does, you better be ready. The fights these sharks put up are legendary – they'll run, jump, dive deep, and do everything they can to throw your hook. That's what makes landing one so rewarding.

Gear Setup & Fighting Fish

We run heavy tackle because we're targeting fish that can easily break lighter gear. Think strong rods, quality reels with smooth drags, and leaders that can handle sharp teeth and powerful runs. The technique varies depending on what we're after, but you'll be using both live and cut baits that these sharks can't resist. When a fish hits, the first thing you'll notice is how fast everything happens. One second you're waiting, the next your rod is bent in half and line is peeling off your reel. The key is staying calm, keeping pressure on the fish, and letting your drag do its job. These aren't fish you can just horse to the boat – they require patience, technique, and a little bit of luck. We'll coach you through every step of the fight, from the initial hookset to getting the fish boatside. Most of our catches are released after a quick photo, keeping these apex predators in the water where they belong.

Target Species Breakdown

Bull Sharks are the heavyweight champions of our waters and the fish every angler wants to tangle with. These bruisers can push 200+ pounds and fight like they're twice that size. They're most active during warmer months and are known for their incredible strength and stubborn nature. When you hook a Bull Shark, expect a battle that could last 30 minutes or more. They'll use every trick in the book – deep dives, powerful runs toward structure, and sudden direction changes that'll test your skills and your equipment. Landing one is a badge of honor that serious anglers respect.

Blacktip Sharks bring speed and acrobatics to the fight that'll get your adrenaline pumping. These fish are famous for their jumping ability and lightning-fast runs. They typically range from 20 to 60 pounds in our waters, making them perfect for anglers who want exciting fights without the marathon battles of larger species. Blacktips are most active in spring and fall, and they're aggressive feeders that'll often hit baits hard. When hooked, they'll frequently jump multiple times, putting on a show that makes for great photos and even better memories.

Spinner Sharks live up to their name with spectacular aerial displays that'll leave you speechless. These fish are built for speed and when they feel the hook, they often launch themselves completely out of the water while spinning rapidly. They're similar in size to Blacktips but tend to be even more acrobatic. Peak season for Spinners runs from late spring through early fall, and they're schooling fish, so where you find one, you'll often find more. The fights are fast and furious, making them a favorite among anglers who love action-packed fishing.

Bonnethead Sharks might be the smallest sharks we target, but they're scrappy fighters that are perfect for building confidence and learning shark fishing techniques. These unique-looking sharks with their shovel-shaped heads typically run 2 to 8 pounds and are excellent for first-time shark anglers or when the bigger fish aren't cooperating. They're year-round residents in our bay and are often the most cooperative when it comes to biting. Don't let their size fool you – they'll still put a bend in your rod and give you a taste of what shark fishing is all about.

Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks are another smaller species that pack a lot of fight into a compact package. Usually running 1 to 4 pounds, they're abundant in our waters and are known for their tenacity. These sharks are perfect when you want consistent action and are great for kids or beginners. They're also year-round residents and are often the most numerous sharks we encounter. While they might not have the size of Bull Sharks or the acrobatics of Spinners, they're willing biters that ensure everyone on the boat gets in on the action.
