We started the day with a mix of techniques, from free lining to popping corks. The conditions were perfect, with partly cloudy skies and great water visibility. Inshore Action Unfolds on the Texas Flats with Capt. Cory

What a great day out on the Texas flats with Thomas and the kiddos!  I'm always excited to take anglers out on our Fishing Charters here in Port Aransas. March is a prime time to be targeting Redfish, and Black Drum, with the warming waters bringing them up shallow to feed. We met up at 2 PM, and headed out to some of my favorite inshore spots.

The conditions were fair—partly cloudy skies and calm waters made for a super comfortable trip. We started off with some popping corks lookingfor trout with one short caught, quickly we changed our target fish to Redfish.  After that, the action stayed steady as we started hooking into Redfish quickly.  It was nonstop action, with rods bending and drag screaming all afternoon.

The best part was just being out on the water, enjoying the beautiful Texas scenery and having a blast catching fish.  The way the Redfish hit the bait was electric. We may not have limited out, but we had a ton of action and a great time doing it.

If you're looking to get out on the Texas flats and experience some of the best inshore fishing around, I can't recommend booking a trip with Russell & Sons Outdoors enough. Fish On: Redfish and Black Drum Deliver Nonstop Excitement With Captain Cory

What a morning we had out on the water with Bethany and the kiddos on the 4 hr Morning Charter Trip with Russell & Sons Outdoors! The conditions were not ideal with a cold front that blew in the night before - Redfish Bay had a light ripple on the water with the 20mph north wind but very calm smooth ride in Capt. Cory's Freedom Warrior.

The first three or four stops we came up empty with bait still on our hooks.  Capt. Cory continued to search and finally pointed out a spot where a couple of mullet were jumping.   He anchored the boat and cast our lines out into a couple of potholes off of a point.   Within just a couple of minutes we were hooked up with a keeper Redfish.  These powerful inshore fighters really put up a great fight, making those rods bend and the drags sing. Bethany's son hooked up almost right away, after landing the first fish and then it was game on with constant action the rest of the trip. We stayed there working the area and catching multiple Redfish and the occasional Black Drum for another two hours.

We stayed there working the area, catching multiple Redfish and the occasional Black Drum for another two hours. It was one of those mornings where the fish just seemed to be waiting for us, aggressively striking our baits. Between the bites, we had a great time swapping stories, enjoying the coastal views, and simply relishing the experience of being out on the water together despite the cold that seemed to vanish as we reeled in multiple fish.

If you're looking to get in on some world-class inshore fishing in Port Aransas, there's no better way to do it than with a 4-Hour Morning Fishing Trip from Russell & Sons Outdoors. Sizzling Catches and Endless Excitement on the Texas Gulf Coast Getaway

What a great day I had out on the water with Eric and his kids!  Despite conditions, I was thrilled to take Eric and his family on our Half Day Morning Trip.

The weather was cold, in the upper 30's, with 25mph winds and clear skies. The water conditions were extremely murky from the strong front that pushed through in the early morning hours.  We chose to start the day late due to the front and started by throwing shrimp on a carolina rig for Black Drum and Red Drum.  Once we located some fish it was game on.  The kids were able to catch dinner for the family and release several more.

Throughout the trip, Eric and the kids were an absolute pleasure to work with - he was engaged, enthusiastic, and his daughter was a quick learner. I could tell he was having a wonderful time watching the kiddos reel in fish.  We were able to capture some great photos and videos of the trip, which I'm sure Eric will treasure.

If you're looking to create some lasting memories on the water, I highly recommend booking your next fishing adventure with Russell & Sons Outdoors in Port Aransas. Our Half Day Morning Fishing Adventure is the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful Gulf Coast and come home with a delicious fresh catch. Don't wait - contact us today to plan your trip!

The wade fishing today overall was good.  considering the full moon and high pressure that was in place.  We had a consistent bite most of the day on plastics.  The colors Papa Pearl and New Moon in the Down South Lures was very productive and Green Goblin in the Southern Salt Bait Co.
We through a 1/16th oz jig head over grass and mud hitting the potholes.

Dive into a Gulf Coast Fishing Escapade Brimming with Redfish, Excitement, and Breathtaking Vistas

It was a gorgeous morning on the Gulf Coast as we set out for our fishing adventure. The sun was just peeking over the horizon, casting a warm glow across the calm, glassy waters. A gentle breeze whispered through the air, the perfect way to start the day. Denise and I were both buzzing with excitement, knowing the fishing would be nothing short of spectacular. As we launched the boat and headed out, the anticipation was palpable. Denise couldn't wait to get her lines in the water and see what the day had in store. I knew these waters like the back of my hand, and I was eager to share their bounty with her. We started off slow, carefully reading the water and looking for any signs of activity. It wasn't long before Denise hooked into her first fish - a beautiful Redfish that put up an incredible fight on her line. The pure joy on her face as she reeled it in was priceless, and I could tell this was going to be a trip she'd remember for a long time. Throughout the morning, we kept a steady pace, moving from spot to spot and adjusting our techniques as needed. Denise was a natural, quickly getting the hang of the light tackle we were using. She was fearless, casting her line with precision and working hard to land each catch. And the variety of fish we encountered was simply amazing - from the powerful Redfish to the sleek, acrobatic species that broke the surface, each new fish brought a fresh wave of excitement. But it wasn't just about the catching; it was about the whole experience. The peaceful surroundings, the camaraderie, the sense of accomplishment - it all combined to create a truly unforgettable outing. Denise and I shared laughs, swapped stories, and reveled in the beauty of our natural surroundings. It was the kind of day that reminds you why you fell in love with fishing in the first place. As we guided the boat back to shore, I could see the satisfaction etched on Denise's face. She had conquered these waters, and she knew it. And I couldn't wait to share this experience with more anglers looking to create their own lasting memories. If you're ready for an inshore fishing adventure that will leave you with a smile from ear to ear, I'd love to have you join me on the Gulf Coast. Just bring your enthusiasm, and I'll handle the rest - the fish, the gear, the know-how. It's time to make some magic happen out on the water.
