Fishing Port Aransas, Texas

We had a great afternoon wade fishing trip down in Port Aransas, Texas with Tyler and his buddy. The weather was perfect, with clear conditions throughout the day. The water was in great shape, and we wasted no time getting our lines in.

We started out working the shallows with some light tackle, trying to coax the Black Drum and Redfish up from the bottom. The fish were definitely active, and it wasn't long before we started getting solid hookups. The Black Drum put up some great fights, stripping line and making strong runs. They're such powerful fish, and it's always a thrill to get them on the end of the line. We also managed to land a few nice Redfish, their bright copper colors flashing in the water as they tried to shake the hook.

As the tide started to change, we switched up our tactics, working the deeper channels with some heavier gear. The jigging and baitcasting rods really came in handy, and we started catching fish with more consistency. The action was steady, with both of us staying busy reeling in one fish after another. By the time we called it a day, our cooler was full of beautiful Gulf Coast gamefish.
