An Inshore Angling Extravaganza on the Redfish Bay Flats
Today was a great day out on the Texas flats with Ray and the crew from North Texas. As an experienced guide with Russell & Sons Outdoors, I always look forward to these afternoon inshore fishing trips - the warm April weather and calm waters this time of year create the perfect conditions to target some of the best gamefish on the flats.
We started the day casting to redfish with live bait around the grass lines. We couldn't get them to eat a bait so quickly moved on. The group was very patient and we located a school of Black Drum a little later. We switched up techniques, throwing dead shrimp, immediately we hooked up, the fish just kept coming. It was a steady, non-stop bite, exactly the kind of action you hope for on an inshore trip.
Between the great fishing, the beautiful scenery, and the awesome group we had, the time really flew by. We shared a lot of laughs, swapped fishing stories, and just had an all-around fantastic time out on the water. That's what these trips are all about - creating lasting memories, connecting with nature, and enjoying the thrill of the catch. Whether you're an experienced angler or just getting into the sport, a guided inshore fishing trip is the perfect way to experience the incredible fishery we have here in Redfish Bay.
